Natural Clove and Garlic Infused Balm — Full Recipe
This natural balm blends the warming power of clove with the soothing boost of garlic (infused, not raw) to create a gentle topical balm that many people use for soothing tired muscles and calming tension. Made with simple plant‑based ingredients, it’s ideal for home use when your body needs a comforting rub.
🍯 Ingredients
½ cup coconut oil (solid)
2 tablespoons beeswax pellets (or grated beeswax)
2 tablespoons dried clove buds
3–4 garlic cloves (crushed and peeled)
10–12 drops essential oil (optional — such as lavender or eucalyptus)
Small clean glass jar with lid
🧴 Instructions
1. Infuse the Oil
In a small saucepan, add the coconut oil, dried clove buds, and crushed garlic.
Warm on very low heat for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
The goal is to let the clove and garlic gently infuse into the oil — do not boil or fry.
If oil starts to bubble, turn heat down.
2. Strain the Oil
After infusion, remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Place a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a bowl.
Pour the oil through it to separate the herbs — keep only the infused oil.
Discard the used clove and garlic.
3. Melt with Beeswax
Return the infused oil to the saucepan.
Add the beeswax.
Warm on low heat, stirring until the beeswax melts completely and mixes with the oil.
4. Add Essential Oil (Optional)
Once melted and smooth, remove from heat and stir in your chosen essential oil (like lavender for calm, or eucalyptus for a refreshing scent).
5. Transfer to Jar
Pour the warm balm into a clean glass jar and let it cool and solidify at room temperature.
🧴 How to Use
✔ Gently massage a small amount into the skin where you feel tension, soreness, or discomfort.
✔ Avoid using on broken skin.
✔ A little goes a long way — only a thin layer is needed for effect.
💡 Benefits & Notes
🌿 Clove infusion is traditionally used for its warming and calming sensation.
🧄 Garlic‑infused oil may help support circulation and relaxation when applied topically — the garlic aroma is not strong because the cloves were infused and strained.
🥥 Coconut oil and beeswax create a smooth, protective base that melts easily on contact with skin.
This balm isn’t a cure‑all, but it’s a gentle, natural option you can make at home for everyday muscle comfort.
