Sticky Savory Chicken and Broccoli
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
4 cups frozen broccoli florets
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Cooked rice, for serving (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Slow Cooker
Place the chicken pieces in the bottom of your slow cooker. Add the frozen broccoli florets on top of the chicken.
Step 2: Make the Sauce
In a medium bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
Step 3: Combine Everything
Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken and broccoli. Gently stir to ensure the ingredients are coated with the sauce.
Step 4: Slow Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.
Step 5: Thicken the Sauce
About 30 minutes before serving, mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker and mix gently.
