Slow Cooker Candied Sweet Potatoes

These slow cooker sweet potatoes are soft, buttery, and packed with warm caramelized flavor. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a comforting dish that tastes like a homemade holiday dessert. The sweet potatoes slowly cook until perfectly tender, soaking up every bit of the rich brown sugar glaze.

Ingredients:

4 to 5 medium sweet potatoes, peeled

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup melted butter

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mini marshmallows or chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions:

Peel the sweet potatoes and place them whole into the slow cooker.

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.

Pour the sweet mixture evenly over the potatoes.

Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the potatoes are very soft.

Carefully slice or lightly mash the potatoes before serving to coat them in the glaze.
