Soft Orange Cake Recipe
Ingredients
Juice and zest of 2 large oranges
1 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
1½ cups all‑purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ cup melted unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a cake pan well.
Oranges: Wash the oranges, grate the orange zest, then squeeze the juice and set both aside.
Wet Mix: In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until the mixture becomes light. Add the melted butter, vanilla extract, orange juice, and zest. Mix until smooth and combined.
Dry Mix: In a separate bowl, sift flour and baking powder together.
Combine: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until you get a smooth batter. Avoid overmixing so the cake stays soft.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool & Serve: Let the cake cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Tips for Best Results
Use fresh oranges for the brightest citrus flavor.
Don’t mix too much after adding the flour — this keeps the cake tender and soft.
Dust with powdered sugar or enjoy as is alongside tea or coffee.
