This Slow Cooker Strawberry Spoon Cake is the kind of easy dessert that tastes like summer in every bite. Sweet strawberries become soft and syrupy while the buttery cake topping cooks into a warm, golden layer. It’s simple, comforting, and perfect for family dinners, potlucks, or whenever you need a quick homemade dessert with very little effort.

Ingredients

2 pounds fresh strawberries, sliced

1 box yellow cake mix

1/2 cup melted butter

1/4 cup sugar (optional, depending on how sweet the strawberries are)

Instructions

Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker.

Add the sliced strawberries to the bottom and spread them out evenly. If you like a sweeter dessert, sprinkle the sugar over the strawberries.

Pour the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit. Do not mix.

Slowly drizzle the melted butter across the top, covering as much of the cake mix as possible.

Cover with the lid and cook on HIGH for 2 to 2½ hours, or until the top is cooked through and the edges look lightly golden.

Turn off the slow cooker and let the dessert rest for about 10 minutes before serving.

Scoop into bowls while warm and top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Extra Tips

Frozen strawberries can be used if fresh ones are unavailable.

Add vanilla extract or lemon zest for extra flavor.

White cake mix or strawberry cake mix also works beautifully.

The texture will be soft and spoonable, similar to a cobbler.

Warm, fruity, buttery, and incredibly easy to prepare, this dessert is one of those recipes everyone asks you to make again after the very first taste.
