Nana Margaret always hid

This sweet homemade treat is one of those recipes people can’t stop eating once they try it. The outside is perfectly golden and slightly crisp, while the inside stays soft, gooey, rich, and full of comforting flavor. It’s the kind of dessert that disappears fast at family gatherings, which is probably why Nana Margaret used to hide an extra batch in the back of the fridge before the kids found them. One bite turns into two… then suddenly the whole tray is gone.

Ingredients

1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and graham cracker crumbs until the texture resembles wet sand. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the baking dish to create the crust.

Next, start layering the ingredients evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the chopped nuts first, followed by the chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and shredded coconut. Slowly drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the entire top, making sure it spreads across all the layers.

Bake for about 25–30 minutes, or until the edges become golden brown and the top looks bubbly and slightly toasted. Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely before slicing. For even cleaner slices and richer flavor, chill them in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

The magic of this dessert is in the layers. The condensed milk melts everything together into a rich, chewy texture while the chocolate becomes soft and gooey. The coconut adds sweetness and texture, and the nuts give every bite the perfect crunch.

These bars are perfect for holidays, bake sales, family gatherings, lunchbox treats, or late-night cravings. They also store beautifully in the fridge, which somehow makes them taste even better the next day. Just be warned: once people discover where you hid the extra batch, they won’t last long.
