Why Dark Rings Appear
A dark circle around a faucet is usually caused by:
Mineral deposits from hard water.
Soap and dirt buildup that collects under the faucet base.
Trapped moisture that keeps the area damp and darker than the rest of the sink.
Sometimes it may look like mold if moisture stays for a long time.
How to Clean It
Vinegar Soak
Soak a cloth or paper towel in white vinegar.
Wrap it around the base of the faucet and leave it for 15–30 minutes.
Wipe and rinse with water.
Vinegar helps dissolve hard water deposits.
Warm Soapy Water
Mix warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap.
Use a soft cloth or soft toothbrush to scrub gently around the faucet base.
Rinse thoroughly.
Dry Thoroughly
After cleaning, dry the area completely with a towel.
Keeping it dry prevents the dark ring from returning.
Tips
Avoid harsh scrubbing or steel wool on finished metal, as it can scratch the surface.
Don’t leave acidic cleaners on the faucet for too long to prevent damage.
