Slow Cooker Potatoes and Onions

Ingredients

6 medium potatoes, sliced into rounds

2 large onions, sliced

3 tablespoons butter, melted

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

Grease the slow cooker with a little butter or cooking spray.

In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, onions, melted butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Layer the potatoes and onions evenly in the slow cooker.

Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the potatoes are tender.

If using cheese, sprinkle it over the top during the last 20 minutes of cooking.

For a golden, crispy top like the one in the photo, place the slow cooker insert under the broiler for 3–5 minutes if it is oven-safe.

Serving Suggestions

Serve as a comforting side dish with roasted chicken, steak, pork chops, or your favorite family dinner. The combination of tender potatoes, sweet caramelized onions, and a crispy golden top makes this dish simple, delicious, and perfect for any occasion.
