It looked fleshy, pinkish, and covered in what appeared to be dozens of tiny, predatory legs or spikes. Our minds immediately raced to the worst-case scenarios: Was it a rare tropical parasite? A dangerous burrowing insect? I carefully pried the object away from the fur and held it up to the light, ready to drop it into a jar of alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bBut as soon as the light hit it, our panic turned into absolute, hysterical laughter.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bIt wasn\u2019t an alien. It wasn\u2019t a dangerous parasite. It was just a wet, warped, discarded false eyelash! The pink &#8220;flesh&#8221; was just the adhesive band that had absorbed water and makeup, and the creepy &#8220;legs&#8221; were nothing more than the synthetic lash hairs clumped together.
